Take our
Intentions Book
Creative Challenge

With this creative hack of a DOC Intentions Book we are asking for a different kind of trip report.
We don’t want your videos, or even the photos. We want your thoughts and feelings, handwritten on a page. A form that makes sense out in the bush.
We’re putting together a journal by trampers for trampers that reads like
someone ripped the rules out of a hut book and replaced them with
creative prompts for a bushclad mind.

How does it work?
Imagine yourself sitting inside a backcountry hut. You’re warm in your merinos and sleeping bag after a brisk hike, watching the fire flicker.
In your hands is an Intentions Book with a twist, blank pages ready for your creativity.

Think of the next person who will visit this remote hut. What message can you write to keep that tramper company while they sip their coffee?
Feel the embrace of the stillness. What can you draw that will keep this calm within your mind a while longer?

Where did this idea come from?
It’s been brewing for a while, ever since we stopped making public huts. Those hut books filled with beautiful entries which we miss!
Can we see examples?
In a hut intentions book you get to read what others have written.
To help you feel a bit more connected we made this video unboxing the first physical entries from Constance McDonald
