Anti Crow Hut

Arthur’s Pass National Park, Canterbury




Built in 1961 near the CMC hut of the same name that later burnt down in 1978. The NZFS used the standard SF70 6-bunk design with an open fire to accommodate deer cullers in the Waimakariri River area. The open fire was replaced in 2001 with a more efficient wood burner.


Anti Crow Hut still stands, after a fresh renovation from the Backcountry Trust and DOC which increased its capacity to 8-bunks. It is a popular hut for families and trampers keen on exploring the Arthurs Pass valleys as it is only 7kms from the road end, near Klondyke Corner.
