Price Flat Historic Hut
Whitcombe Valley, West Coast
An historic deer cullers hut, with the oldest part of the hut being built in 1908. It was completely rebuilt in 1949 for Westland's deer culling operations.
Locals, Tom & Noel used materials salvaged from an old hut at Vincent Creek & other materials were airdropped in (one of the first times this was done), along with hand-adzed timber from the surrounding bush.
Located deep in the Whitcombe valley the hut has been faithfully upgraded a few times, most recently by DOC who refreshed the bold red timber stain, though the roof still has its rusty patina.
Our Mini Hut version is made from salvaged rimu, stained with red wood dye, unique wooden chimney and authentic rusty orange roof.
All orders will ship from Mon 22nd Sept
