Situated high above Lake Kaniere this hut was built by a feat of community effort in 2010. It spent its first 50 years in Lower Arahura Valley before being flown up Mt. Brown in sections and then reconstructed entirely.
Mount Brown Hut is a NZFS 4-bunk S81 design and graces the cover of the first edition of hut tome, “Shelter From The Storm.”*
Our Mini Hut version is the second edition we’ve produced and features the veranda space and a rimu deck. Made in honour of Dave’s 70th, one of the Hokitika based restorers of the real hut.
*We do have it on authority that the 2024 edition has a different hut on the cover.
